Jorja Smith debuts new track “Be Honest” and it features Nigerian singer, Burna Boy.
British singer, Jorja Smith and Nigerian Afro beats artist, Burna Boy seem to have built a strong professional relationship. Just a few weeks ago, Burna‘s new album dropped and contained a contribution by the British star on the track, Gum Body. Now, she’s released the first song following her successful last album, Lost & Found, and the new track features Burna as both artists collaborate for a second time.
Both Burna Boy and Jorja Smith have recorded massive success with their music from last year into this year. Jorja‘s previously released debut studio album, Lost & Found became a huge success in the UK. The album which was released on June 8, 2018 debuted on the UK Albums Chart at number 3, and at number one on the regions R&B charts. It also became a moderate success in the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. In 2019, Jorja was named the Best British Female Artist at the Brit Awards, and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best New Artist.
Burna has also recorded massive recognition this year, winning the BET Award for best international act, and also gaining a solo spot on the Beyoncé curated Lion King: The Gift album. Burna‘s new album, African Giant has also made impressions on the United States and U.K. albums charts as well as other charts.
The new song, Be Honest, is Jorja‘s first release since last year’s album. The song is produced by Izy and Cadenza. The smooth energetic song, suits both Jorja and Burna who deliver a beautiful vocal performance on the song. The video is shot across various locations in London, with Jorja‘s real life friends making cameos.
