Michael Busbee, songwriter for Jonas Brothers and Maren Morris dies at 43

Michael Busbee, Jonas Brothers and country singer, Marren Morris‘ songwriter dies at 43.

It’s a sad time for music buffs as they mourn the loss of Grammy nominated singer, Michael Busbee who died on September 29. The songwriter and producer worked with some the biggest names in country music. He had been diagnosed with gliobastoma (an aggressive form of brain cancer) earlier this year.

The late songwriter reportedly had a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music. The label released a statement on Sunday night confirming his death. They wrote;

Our hearts are broken by the loss of our beautiful friend Busbee. He was an extraordinary human being whose generosity, spirituality and humor inspired everyone around him. 

An Amazingly gifted songwriter, he used his talent, his, and his love to break down boundaries and bring people together. He left far too soon. Our deepest condolences go to his wonderful family and all his many friends. We love you.”

Busbee, real name Michael James Ryan was also a record label executive and a multi a instrumentalist. He worked with a range of artists including Marren Morris, Gwen Stefani, P!nk, Timberland, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Lady Antebellum, Jonas Brothers, Rascal Flatts, Shakira, etc. He reportedly co-wrote H.O.L.Y by Florida Georgia Line.

Country star, Marren Morris reacted to the news tweeting “This just doesn’t seem fair. I will always love you and the songs and albums I was lucky to make with you. Busbee. Rest well, my sweet friend”.

Many celebrities have also reacted to the news including Adam Lambert and the Jonas Brothers who honored the late songwriter in concert.
