Tanzania’a Rayvanny is apparently in the mood for some girl talk, so he’s just shared a number that does some talking in that angle: “Girlfriend.” For this track he looked as far as South Africa for a feature.
Rayvanny‘s feature choice on this track is Rowlene, the sole signee at Nasty C‘s Tall Racks Records. Just to be clear: saying sole signee in no way means Nasty C‘s couldn’t sign other talents. As he had noted to the press, he is focusing on her to make her a household name.
To this end she has been the sole feature in his Send Me Away (SMA) video series, a hit with the public. Rowlene herself has featured Nasty C in most of her numbers. Rowlene had once said Nasty C was the only person who truly understands her. The two make interesting collaborators.
The lead artiste on this song Rayvanny, whose birth name is Raymond Shaban Mwakyusa, leaped to national attention with the release of “Kwetu.” He has followed that up with several other numbers, including “Mwanza,” “Konki” and “Tetema,” featuring Diamong Platnumz.
By the way, he is signed to Diamond Platnumz‘s record label, WCB Wasafi, which released the track in question. The track “Girlfriend” drops amidst the success of “Vumbi,” featuring Diamond Platnumz. The track is still buzzing.
“Girlfriend” is already trending is East Africa. The trend promises to continue even as Rayvanny wows the denizens of Washington, DC, tomorrow Saturday July 13 at the East Africa Takeover.
