The King Is Back… Ruff Ryder General, DMX return with an hilarious twist to the classic and evergreen Christmas Carol song “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer.” The only thing is the fact that the American rapper adds his own trademark and signature to this latest offering.
The Mount Vernon, New York, native whose real name is Earl Simmons had performed the version of the song at a radio station as far back as 2012. Once he was asked, DMX immediately said he knows the lyrics and even used a table to add his ever roaring beats – it immediately went viral.
However, as part of Spotify’s Singles Christmas playlist, which also includes covers from Wyclef Jean, Lalah Hathaway, Fifth Harmony, Sam Smith and more, DMX has now dropped an official version of “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer” five years after.
The “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer” version of DMX still holds some jingle bells tunes in its offering, but gets the bass vocals that the “X Gon Give It To Ya” hitmaker dominated the circuit with in his prime.
Plus, you cannot mistaken the roll of hard-hitting drums and energetic instrumentals that does give a Christmas Carol an urban grind. In fact, this might be the latest Christmas anthem for fellas on the streets.
You’ve definitely got to cop a listen, but be sure to share your thoughts and opinion in the comments section below.
